Warm Weather leads to Fire

Tough winds that fanned two forest fires around West Kelowna in the Okanagan Valley over the weekend have calmed down but sustained warm and waterless weather conditions will make it complex to manage the risk, a fire deeds market analyst says.

With temperatures predict to rise to 35 degrees, the area will see some of the deep temperatures of the summer, for the next seven days there is no wind and no rain. The moistures of high temperature produce a new fire, creating a preheating effect. This year tough winds, high temperatures and low down wetness have mutual to make the Okanagan mainly disposed to fire.

Winds have been stronger than normal throughout July, and Kelowna has previously seen 11 days this month with temperatures above 30 degrees.
